Admission Criteria
Our Process
Referral Submission
Referrals are accepted via email at Referrals@safespaceliving.co.uk or Info@safespaceliving.co.uk. Each referral should include sufficient background information to enable an initial screening.
Initial Screening
Every referral is considered individually and on its own merit. SafeSpace Living applies stringent matching criteria to assess compatibility with the service and ensure that the family’s needs can be met holistically. Equal opportunities principles are applied throughout to ensure fairness and inclusion.
Information Sharing and Partnership Working
SafeSpace Living works in partnership with the placing Local Authority to obtain full background information. This collaborative approach ensures that the needs of the family can be appropriately met and that the placement offers good value for the Local Authority.
Suitability Assessment
SafeSpace Living welcomes referrals for families who may have a history of substance and/or alcohol misuse, provided they are either already engaging with appropriate support agencies or are willing to do so. These agencies may include mental health services, substance misuse teams, or alcohol support services. The assessment process ensures that the family is willing and able to engage with professional support networks and that the placement environment remains safe and therapeutic for all residents.
Risk Evaluation
A robust risk assessment is undertaken as part of the matching process. SafeSpace Living reserves the right to refuse a placement if significant risks are identified, including but not limited to arson, sexual offences, violence, or any other factors that may pose a substantial risk of harm. In all cases where a placement is refused, a written response outlining the reasons will be provided to the referring Local Authority.
Admission Confirmation
Once the family’s suitability has been confirmed and all necessary information verified, a formal offer of placement is made. The placement start date and terms are agreed, and all relevant admission documentation is completed prior to commencement.
Financial Arrangements
Costs and fees are discussed and agreed directly with the placing Local Authority or referring agency. For fee-related enquiries, please contact Referrals@safespaceliving.co.uk or Info@safespaceliving.co.uk
